Howdy! I’m Frankie Radner. A finishing carpenter turned accessibility technician turned UI/UX design engineer, and founder of Frankie Radner Design Co. You may wonder how such distinct professions led me to design, but I promise it will all make sense in the end.

As a finishing carpenter, I spent much of my career fixing designers' mistakes because they didn't understand how things were built. This caused a lot of problems, as seemingly insignificant details, such as an incorrect measurement or poor layout decision, often resulted in projects being scrapped, rescheduled, or rebuilt. In many cases, the problem was simply passed on to the installer, negatively impacting the customer experience and wasting company resources.

As an accessibility technician, I saw firsthand how the world around us isn't designed for everyone. Constant barriers and public misunderstanding place a huge burden on individuals who are simply trying to get through their day. Unsurprisingly, the digital world has the same problem. When an injury in 2020 forced me to switch careers, I made it my mission not only to learn design, but also to understand how digital products are actually built and how to make them accessible.
